Eunice E. Hitchcock – passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, peacefully at her daughter’s home. She was 80. Born in Wolverine June 21, 1927, to Charles and Berniece (Welling) Caddick. Married 1946 to Burton Hitchcock in Gaylord. Mrs. Hitchcock began her work career at the Northern Michigan Tuberculosis Sanatorium, Gaylord, where she met Burton, and ended with retirement from Diana’s Delights, where she had cooked since Don Kreiger owned it as the Coffee Shop. She was one of the last General Telephone switchboard operators in Gaylord. Moore, John Obituary
Mr. John H. Moore, age 59 of Vanderbilt, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. He was born in Vanderbilt on August 6, 1948 to Lud and Loretta (Crum) Moore. John was a lifetime Vanderbilt resident. He married Josephine M. Burgess, who survives. John worked for George Rowley before going to work for H&H Tube for 29 and a half years. He enjoyed country music, NASCAR, and the Fly Wheelers Flea Market. But most of all, John lived life for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought him joy like no other. DeGrow, William A. Obituary
William Arthur DeGrow, Jr, age 86, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village in Gaylord, Michigan. He was born September 29, 1921 in Big Rapids, Michigan to William Arthur DeGrow and Grace Pearl Smith. William served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as a pilot in the Fighting Red Devils, 40th Fighter Squadron, 35th Fighter Group. He graduated from Michigan State University and had a successful career as a mechanical engineer with General Motors until enjoying 25 years of retirement in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Evans, Margaret Obituary
Margaret Evans of Gaylord died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. She was 91. Margaret was born in Columbus, Indiana on September 3, 1916. She retired from Otsego Memorial Hospital and previously owned Evans Wallpaper and Painting. Margaret was married to Tilden Evans. They often spent time together camping, fishing and traveling. Mr. Evans preceded his wife in death on Aug 9, 1978. Margaret enjoyed board games especially Chinese checkers; crocheting and painting with watercolors.
