Kern, James T. Obituary
Mr. James T. Kern, age 79, of Lewiston, died February 7, 2010.
He was born in Toledo, OH on August 8, 1930, to Clifford and Margaret (Meador) Kern.
He was raised by his grandmother in Indiana and later moved to Brighton.
He married the former Connie J. Wenderski on May 10, 1969 in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Kern had worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor for 12 years until his retirement in 1981.
In 1987, James and his wife moved to Lewiston. He worked part time for the Montmorency County and Oscoda County Commissions on Aging. He was also a board member of the Oscoda County Commission on Aging. James was a member of St. Francis Church in Lewiston and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Kern is survived his wife, Connie; children, Bernice Parker of Brighton, Theresa (Brian) Gibson of Queen Creek, AZ, Robert and Judy Duncan of Whitmore Lake, Richard Duncan of Brighton, Julie (Thomas) Riess of Brighton, Paul (Nancy) Reeves of Mt. Vernon, IN, Thomas Kern of Shelby Gap, KY, Sharon ( Dan) Stamper of Pikeville, KY, James T. Kern, Jr. of Dover, TN, Robert (Sheri) Kern of Cumberland City, TN; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Persinger of Westland; many nieces in nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11am from St. Francis Church in Lewiston.

I am so sorry for your loss of Jim. I was just watching some videos of the old days. What fun you all used to have. Wish I lived closer, you were so good to me during my time with Mom, Dad and Glenn. You are in my thoughts and prayers now.
